Sally Bretton, famed for her portrayal of Martha Lloyd in BBC's Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise, has disclosed her reluctance to leave the sun-soaked detective series back in 2017.
Stepping into the role of detective Humphrey Goodman's (played by Kris Marshall) fiancee, Sally debuted as Martha in 2017, swiftly winning over viewers as her character reignited a past romance with Humphrey, ultimately leading him to swap Saint Marie for London.
In an intimate chat on This Morning, Sally admitted she would've loved to extend her stay on the show. When probed about her readiness to cease filming in the Caribbean, she emphatically replied, "No!"
She elaborated: "I was only out there for four or five weeks. I didn't get any of the hurricanes; I got it at just the perfect time. I had an amazing time."
Looking ahead to Martha's adventures in the spin-off Beyond Paradise, Sally divulged details about Martha and Humphrey's new chapter in Shipton Abbott, Devon, where they embark on fostering following their poignant IVF journey.

With great enthusiasm, Sally revealed her keenness to return to her role as Martha in the BBC One spin-off.
"I was part of Kris' exit storyline from the Caribbean, and then we were in the first lockdown, and the phone rang," she shared with This Morning hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.
"I was like, 'Oh my God!'. Even if it doesn't happen, it was just three weeks of thinking about that while the world had stopped. It was to have something to sink my teeth into."

The show also stars Open All Hours' Barbara Flynn as Anne, playing Martha's mother, alongside Zahra Ahmadi, who takes on the role of DS Esther Williams, Humphrey's colleague at Shipton Abbott police.
Completing the lineup, Dylan Llewellyn and Felicity Montagu join as fellow officers and teammates of Humphrey.
The third series of Beyond Paradise, which aired earlier this year, saw Humphrey and Martha finding themselves in a steadier place amid their fostering endeavour.
However, it was an emotional end to the series for the couple as they had to say goodbye to their foster daughter, Rosie.
Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise are available to watch on iPlayer.
