Sporting club’s insane striker Viktor Gyökeres has made a statement after the club’s president made few comments on his future. The release clause of the player is said to be “€65 million” but the president claimed that they wont be selling him for that low amount and will increase the price.
Sporting CP’s prolific striker Viktor Gyökeres has finally addressed swirling rumours about his future following bold comments made by the club’s president. The Swedish forward, who has been on the radar of several top European clubs, is reportedly tied to a €65 million release clause – a figure that Sporting are not willing to settle for.
Club president recently stirred the pot by declaring that €65 million is far too low for a player of Gyökeres’ caliber, hinting that the club will push for a significantly higher fee if any suitor comes knocking.
With speculation reaching fever pitch, Gyökeres offered a composed but telling response in a brief media interaction. “There’s a lot of talk at the moment, most of it is false. I’ll speak when the time is right,” said the striker.
