Businessman Sunjay Kapur , who was once married to actress Karisma Kapoor , sadly passed away at 53 after a heart attack. As per ANI, the incident happened just hours after he swallowed a bee during a polo match, according to business consultant Suhel Seth . While many knew Sunjay because of his marriage to Karisma, he later married actor and model Priya Sachdev , with whom he had a son.
Sunjay Kapur’s Marriages: From Karisma to Priya
Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor tied the knot in 2003, in what was considered one of the grandest Bollywood weddings of the time. Their marriage lasted for over a decade, and together they had two children—Samaira, born on 11 March 2005, and Kiaan, born on 12 March 2011. However, by 2014, their relationship hit rough waters. The couple filed for divorce that year, and by 2016, they were officially separated.
Soon after, Sunjay found love again with Delhi-based model and socialite Priya Sachdev. In 2017, the two got married and later welcomed their son, Azarias .
Who is Priya Sachdev?
As reported by Hindustan Times, Priya Sachdev is a well-known face in Delhi’s social circle. Daughter of car dealer Ashok Sachdev, Priya pursued business studies at the prestigious London School of Economics before stepping into the world of showbiz.
In the early 2000s, she began her career in the glamour world, appearing in several commercials. In one of her ads was fora body wash brand, where she shared screen space with none other than Kareena Kapoor .
Her short stint in Bollywood
Though Priya Sachdev had a promising start in modelling, her Bollywood journey was quite brief. She had only one film to her name—‘Neal ’n’ Nikki’, released in 2005. She played a small role in the film as the love interest of Uday Chopra ’s character. The film also starred Tanisha Mukherji, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a box office flop.
A past marriage to Vikram Chatwal
Before she met Sunjay Kapur, Priya was married to American hotelier and actor Vikram Chatwal. The two tied the knot in 2006 and had a daughter together—Safira Chatwal. However, the marriage ended in divorce in 2011.
A glimpse into her family life with Sunjay
Even though Sunjay and Karisma had separated, Priya Sachdev always maintained a respectful distance while still showing love for the children from Sunjay’s previous marriage. She often posted pictures on Instagram that reflected the closeness and warmth between her son Azarias and his half-siblings Samaira and Kiaan.
