Truecaller has launched a new Secure Calls feature to rid mobile users of fake calls. Through this feature, users will be able to easily identify fake calls.

Truecaller has rolled out a new Secure Calls feature to curb fraud calls. This feature will work to protect users from fake calls. The Swedish caller ID app maker has added this feature in the new update. This feature is specifically to give verification badges to enterprise users so that users can easily know whether the incoming marketing call is correct or not.

Secure Call feature launched

While launching this feature, the company said that this feature is for Truecaller's business platform, which has been brought in view of the increasing incidents of cyber frauds. The company has launched this feature especially to prevent call spoofing. Real estate service provider company NoBroker is the first to subscribe to this new Secure Calls feature of Truecaller. Truecaller hopes that more business firms will enroll themselves through this feature.

Fake marketing calls will be identified

Through this secure call feature of Truecaller, the work of whitelisting the enterprise at the backend level will be done, so that if any fake call comes to the users, they will come to know about it. Truecaller will work to label genuine business platforms through this feature. This feature will work to stop fake calls coming on the users' mobile on a daily basis.

However, the telecom regulator and the Department of Telecommunications are already very strict about the quality of service of telecom users. Last year, TRAI has made major changes in the rules to improve the quality of service of telecom companies. Especially to stop fake calls, telecom companies have been asked to implement the new DLT system. This system will work to block fake calls at the network level itself. Only whitelisted telemarketers will be able to call users' numbers. Also, the rules have been made stricter for those who buy SIM cards in blocks.

Telecom company Airtel has also launched AI based call detection and filter feature for its users. Through this feature, fake calls and messages coming to the users' numbers are filtered. Not only this, fake links coming to the users' numbers are blocked, so that if the users click on these links even by mistake, they cannot open. Also, DoT has also announced a new number series for the banking and insurance sector.
