As a fashion writer, I'm constantly keeping one eye on trends and the other on pieces that suit my style - a mix of grunge with a slightly girly edge. Think: leather jackets with delicate camisoles and chunky boots with a lacy dress and red lipstick.
Lately, I've been looking for the perfect pair of, but finding the one has proven harder than I expected. I bought a stretchy pair from Zara, but they just didn't have the attitude I was after; I wanted something with a little more structure and edge.
Recently, my denim has shifted - and unexpectedly, it's all thanks to Marks & Spencer. A friend swore by their jeans, so I picked up a, and I'm still not quite over how good the quality is for the price. Of course, wide-leg jeans aren't for everyone. If you prefer a more fitted style, Nobody's Child has this (£69) with a more tailored vibe, while (£55) has a classic straight-leg fit.
I don't have anything bad to say about these jeans, but a few M&S shoppers have complained about sizing, with one saying, "They're far too small. Definitely size up." I opted for my usual size 12, and they fit well, but it might be worth considering if you're unsure.
Still, it's safe to say these M&S jeans have filled a long-standing gap in my wardrobe. And for under £50? I'd go as far as saying they might be one of my best high-street finds this year. They're available to
