Nowadays cyber thugs are blowing money from their bank accounts by taking people in new ways. The latest case has come out from Hyderabad, where a government employee was cheated by Rs 3.92 lakh through APK file. To avoid such matters, it is important that you know what is APK and how is it fraudized?

What is APK?
APK means Android Package Kit. This is a file by which you can install an app directly in your Android mobile.
This is the same as a computer has a software file.

Although the right apps can be installed with the help of APK, cyber thugs work to implicate you by adding viruses or spyware to it. As soon as you install this file, the thugs get access to your phone and they can withdraw money from your bank accounts.

How did the fraud? – Hyderabad Case Study
A 59 -year -old government employee received a call. The caller described himself as the relationship manager of a private bank and said that there is some disturbance in his address which is necessary to get it fixed.
He then sent an APK file and asked to install.

As soon as the victim installed the file in the phone, money started to be deducted from the bank account.
Actually, there was such a software in this file that had completely hacked the phone.

How to avoid such cyber fraud?
Never install any unknown APK file.

Only download the app from Google Play Store or App Store.

If someone asks himself to install the app by calling himself a bank or a police officer, then be careful – it can be a fraud.

Do not click on any file or link without checking.
