
Situated in the south-east of India, Rajasthan is famous all over the world for its forts, sand dunes, but it is famous for its severe heat, if we talk about recent days, the mercury has reached 45 degrees, due to which the person is in a state of scorching heat, the temperature in June has become the highest in the last six years.
The highest temperature recorded this month was 45.9 degrees Celsius, which was the hottest day of June in the last six years. There has been severe heat in the Thar Desert since the second week of June.
Pre-monsoon rains in Barmer, Jaisalmer and surrounding areas were less than expected and did not bring any significant relief. The temperature in Barmer has increased rapidly in the last week, due to which the roads have become deserted, as people avoid going out in the peak hours of heat.
Temperatures are rising steadily, with some areas of northwestern Rajasthan like Ganganagar and parts of Bikaner division recording temperatures above 47°C. Scorching heat conditions are expected to persist in northwestern Rajasthan for the next 2-3 days.
Cities like Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Churu, Jhunjhunu and Kota are consistently recording temperatures between 45-46°C. East Rajasthan will also remain hotter than normal for the next 4-5 days.
There is no chance of rain at present; however, some relief may be expected after June 16-17 due to the partial effect of easterly winds coming from the Bay of Bengal.
