Malaysia is one of the five most searched Asian countries by European travelers this summer, according to a recent report from online travel platform Agoda.
Among the top destinations in Asia, Malaysia saw the largest rise in interest, with a 20% increase in searches compared to last year, based on accommodation searches conducted on Agoda in April 2025 for check-in dates between July and August.
Vu Ngoc Lam, country director at Agoda, said the rising interest in destinations like Malaysia, highlights a growing curiosity among European travelers to explore Asia’s diverse cultures, stunning landscapes, and hidden gems during their summer adventures.
Thailand topped the list, followed by Indonesia and Japan.
Malaysia, named Asia’s most loved country last year by American finance site Insider Monkey, welcomed 13.3 million foreign arrivals in the first four months of this year, up 21% year-on-year and 12% against the same period of pre-Covid levels in 2019.
