
An investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed on the street in Nottingham city centre, police have said.
Nottinhamshire Police force said in a statement that a man in his 30s was attacked along Market Street in the Midlands city, at about 11.50am on Monday (June 9).
The victim was treated by parademics at the scene and taken to hospital, police said. His injuries are not thought to be life-altering or life-threatening. A scene is in place while investigation work takes place.
Officers have urged witnesses to come forward and with any information they may have.
Chief Inspector Neil Humphris, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was an appalling act of violence carried out in full view of members of the public.
"A team of detectives is now working to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident.
"To this end they want to hear from anyone who saw or heard any part of what happened." You can read the full statement below.
