A is offering customers £180 in a bid to tempt them into opening new current accounts. is offering the cash incentive to new customers who open an eligible after 29 May.

In order to be eligible, customers need to open an account online or in branch and deposit £1,500 into it within 60 days, which can be done through multiple payments. Complete the full switch within 60 days of the initial switch request, including closing their external account, and will be required to set up at least two active household within 60 days of the initial switch request. This would include payments such as mobile and home phone bills, broadband and paid-for TV packages, gas and electricity bills and water bills.

Anthony Warrington, Head of Banking at Santander UK, said: "Summer is fast approaching, and many people will be saving up for the holidays - whether it be for that trip abroad, festival, or day out with the family.

"That's why we're pleased to be introducing our new £180 switcher incentive, providing even more value for customers making the move to Santander.

"It's a simple, straightforward way to get rewarded for switching, while benefitting from our range of popular current accounts - making your money go that little bit further this summer."

In order to be eligible, customers must not have held a Santander current account on 1st January 2025.

To make the switch, customers must use the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) to switch to one of the bank's Santander Everyday, Edge, Edge Up, or Private (v2) current accounts.

CASS helps people switch their current accounts and makes switching a current account between banks and building societies simple, reliable and stress-free.

They ensure the process is simple by allowing your new bank to switch your payments and transfer your balance, while your old bank takes care of closing your old account.

If they meet the requirements, customers will receive their £180 payment within 90 days of starting the switch process.

The bank has yet to give a date for when the offer will come to an end, meaning that time is of the essence for those hoping to take advantage of the offer.
