After the nasty stampede issue followed by the trophy win by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, it not only scarred the glory of the team but also questioned the government's role in managing the crowd. In such a tense situation, the Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah updated that the government is looking to shift the cricket stadium to some other location. Speaking to the media, he said,
"The government will look into shifting the cricket stadium to another location. Such an unpleasant incident should not happen under any government. Personally, this incident has hurt me and the government."
While Chinnaswamy has the capacity of attending 32,000 spectators, almost 3 lakh people, that is 9 times the capacity, turned up just to see the players! As per claims, the gates were supposed to be opened by 1:45 pm, but it actually opened at around 3 pm leading to a massive upsurge.
Not only that, he downplayed the Karnataka government's involvement and said that he was just invited to attend the felicitation at Vidhana Soudha. Not only that he complained being informed about the stampede at around 5:45 pm, when the first casualty occured in around 3:50 pm.
As per The News Minute, CM Siddaramaiah was reportedly upset about not being informed of a warning letter from DCP MN Karibasavana Gouda regarding the scale of the Vidhana Soudha felicitation event. The matter was discussed in a closed-door meeting on June 8 with top state officials, including Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Home Minister G Parameshwara. The meeting also reviewed the state's legal strategy ahead of the Karnataka High Court hearing on June 10.
Defending the government, Siddaramaiah said no wrong decisions were made and legal action has been taken against those responsible. He dismissed calls for his resignation, citing past tragedies in Uttar Pradesh where no such demands were made.

10 point letter DCP (Vidhana Soudha security) M N Karibasavana Gowda wrote to Siddaramaiah
Just hours before the June 4 stampede, DCP (Vidhana Soudha Security) M.N. Karibasavana Gowda flagged safety concerns in a letter to the DPAR Secretary. Responding to a request for his opinion, Gowda raised 10 key points, highlighting issues like inadequate time for crucial arrangements, potential security risks, and threats to key installations linked to hosting the felicitation event on the Vidhana Soudha steps. The main points of the letter are quoted here:
1. If the event is organised on the grand steps, lakhs of cricket fans will come to the Vidhana Soudha. There is a shortage of staff for bandobast.
2. Distribution of passes, online or offline, to attend the felicitation at Vidhana Soudha be stopped.
3) It is highly likely that the secretariat officials or staff would bring their family members. We request you to declare a half-day holiday for the officials and also to direct them not to attend the event.
4) We have requested that CCTV cameras be installed in front and around the Vidhana Soudha, but they have not been installed… Without CCTV cameras, it will pose a threat to the security system.
5) We want an NOC from the PWD. Also, the organisers must be informed that the police should be allowed to conduct security checks at least two hours before the event.
6) With electric equipment used during the event, the concerned engineer must issue a fitness certificate
7) The organisers must allow the anti-sabotage check squad at least two hours before the event.
8) As the RCB fan following is huge, police personnel from outside the city will be required. It will require time.
9) The law and order and the traffic police will have to coordinate to conduct such a huge event and there is not enough time
10) There are chances of using drones during such events and anti-drone systems are required.
