Bengaluru: A married woman in Bengaluru was tragically murdered by her lover, a software professional, who stabbed her 17 times. The police have arrested the man.
The incident happened recently in a hotel room in Poornaprajna Layout. The victim, 36-year-old Harini, was having an affair with the accused, Yashas. They first met at a fair, exchanged numbers, started chatting, and their relationship became physical.
However, Harini’s husband grew suspicious. He took away her phone and stopped her from leaving their home. After several months, Harini managed to get out and contacted Yashas again. Police say Yashas had become very upset during their separation and decided to kill her.
On June 6th, the pair met and went to a hotel. After being intimate, Yashas repeatedly stabbed Harini with a knife and then fled. Harini died from her injuries.
The Subramanyapura police investigated and arrested Yashas. He confessed to killing Harini because he felt she was avoiding him.
This shocking crime follows other recent tragedies involving tech professionals in Bengaluru. Earlier this year, AI startup CEO Suchana Seth was arrested for allegedly killing her young son. In 2011, depressed software engineer Santosh Sarade killed his infant daughter before taking his own life. In 2022, another software engineer was arrested for allegedly killing his 2-year-old daughter, claiming he couldn’t afford to feed her.
