presenter Matthew Thompson has been flooded with support after the broadcaster revealed he is leaving the broadcaster after three years. Last month, the broadcaster announced his huge decision to quit journalism after a lustrous 14-year career.
The channel's Home and Political Correspondent admitted that "it's not a decision I've taken lightly" as he revealed that he will not only be leaving the profession but also the country. The former BBC Newsnight presenter revealed that he will be moving to Edinburgh with his family as he makes the leap into the "world of finance". Now, the journalist has shared a snap from his final broadcast.

On Sunday (June 8), the news correspondent took to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share the update with his 23,000 followers online. Sharing a snap of himself in the TV monitor which had an autocue above it which read "Matt is out. Goodbye", he reflected on his time in the bustling newsroom.
He captioned the post: "And that, as they say, is that. It's been a hell of a ride. You stay classy, Twitter. " It didn't take long before his colleagues and loyal fans swarmed to the comments section to pass on their best wishes online.
Political commentator Matthew Torbitt penned: "Good luck going forward Matt!" as fellow Sky reporter Connor Sephton added: "Good luck - never got to talk to you because of my ruddy night shifts but loved you in air! Our loss."
Another fan penned: "Good luck in your new career journey and Scotland is a great choice for residence." The star broke the news about his difficult decision two weeks ago in a lengthy post online.
He wrote: "Some personal news. In a couple of weeks, I am leaving Sky News. And indeed, leaving London and journalism altogether. It's not a decision I've taken lightly but it's one that's best for me and my family. I'll be moving to Edinburgh and into the world of finance."
The presenter teased fans that this may not be for good and hinted at further updates to come after moving to the Scotland capital. He added: "I hope this isn't goodbye. It may be possible to keep some level of engagement on her in my n Pippa Scott ew gig. For now, thank you.
"I've learned so much from reading and speaking with you all over the years. It's made me a better journalist, and a better person. I'll miss it terribly."
