The French Open 2025 final between Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz and Italy’s Jannik Sinner was a gripping encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
The match, held at Roland Garros, lasted over five hours and went down as the longest final in the tournament's history.
In the end, 22-year-old Alcaraz scripted history by winning the French Open title for the second consecutive year, claiming his fifth Grand Slam title overall.
Carlos Alcaraz’s Prize Money
By winning the French Open, Carlos Alcaraz earned a whopping $2.9 million, which is approximately ₹25 crore. Unlike team sports, where earnings are shared, this entire amount goes directly to Alcaraz.
Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner, the runner-up, also earned a significant amount—$1.3 million, which is around ₹13 crore in Indian currency.
In the IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) finally broke their 18-year drought and won their first-ever title. As champions, RCB received ₹20 crore in prize money from the BCCI.
However, this amount is shared among the entire team, including players, coaches, and staff. On an individual level, most players receive only a fraction of the total sum—often well below ₹1 crore per player.
Carlos Alcaraz beats World No. 1
Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz created history by winning the French Open 2025 title, defeating world number 1 Jannik Sinner in a thrilling five-set final. With this victory, Alcaraz not only defended his Roland Garros crown but also secured his fifth Grand Slam title overall.
This is Alcaraz’s second French Open title. His current Grand Slam tally now stands at: 2 French Opens, 2 Wimbledons and 1 US Open.
At just 22 years old, he has firmly established himself as one of the modern greats in men’s tennis.
The 2025 final between Alcaraz and Sinner was nothing short of epic, lasting five hours and 29 minutes, making it the longest final in French Open history. With both players giving it their all, three of the five sets were decided by tiebreakers.
Final score: 4-6, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (10-2).
