The Meghalaya Police has made a major breakthrough in the murder case of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi. Authorities confirmed that four individuals were involved in the crime. What was shocking was the fact that one of them is Raghuvanshi's wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi.

Raja Raghuvanshi's body was found on June 2. The couple was married on May 10.

Sonam, who had been on the run, turned herself in at the Nandganj Police Station in Uttar Pradesh. After surrendering, she was formally taken into custody by the police.

The 24-year-old Sonam Raghuvanshi reached the Varanasi-Ghazipur Highway, bringing a new twist to the ongoing investigation. According to Uttar Pradesh's Additional Director General (Law and Order), Amitabh Yash, Sonam was located late at night at the Kashi Dhaba and was taken into protective custody.

Sonam was first taken to Sadar Hospital in Ghazipur for preliminary medical treatment. She was later shifted to another government-run facility.

Sonam Raghuvanshi Was Nervous: Witness

The arrest followed a dramatic scene at a roadside eatery in Ghazipur, where Sonam appeared alone late at night. The dhaba (highway restaurant) owner, speaking to the media, described her as visibly anxious when she arrived at around 1 AM.

"She seemed extremely nervous," he recalled. "She came in alone and asked for a phone urgently, saying she needed to make an important call. I handed her the phone, and she made the call. Shortly after that, the police arrived and took her away."

What Sonam Raghuvanshi's Father Said

Sonam, daughter of Devi Singh Raghuvanshi from Govind Nagar, Kharsa, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, had been missing along with her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi.

However, Sonam's father, Devi Singh Raghuvanshi, has now accused the Meghalaya Police of fabricating stories and misleading the public. "My daughter is innocent. I have trust in my daughter. She cannot do this (kill her husband)... They got married with the consent of both families. The state (Meghalaya) Government has been lying from the beginning. My daughter came to a dhaba in Ghazipur last night and she called her brother..."

He further described: "The police went to the dhaba, and she was taken from there. I have not been able to speak to my daughter. Why will my daughter do such a thing (kill her husband)?"

"The Meghalaya Police is lying. My daughter reached Ghazipur on her own. She was not arrested in Meghalaya. We were thinking of meeting Madhya Pradesh CM and then Union HM Amit Shah to request a CBI inquiry. Meghalaya Police is making up stories. Let the CBI inquiry begin, all officers at the police station (in Meghalaya) will be behind bars," he said.

Raja Raghuvanshi's Family Wants CBI Probe

Raja Raghuvanshi's brother, Vipin, said: If a CBI investigation is conducted, there will be big revelations. Raja had no enmity with anyone. If Sonam is involved, she should be punished. I have heard that the Shillong police have come here. Their marriage was an arranged wedding. We have never seen any fight. Both were happy with the marriage."
