's John Sugden (played by Oliver Farnworth) finds himself out of the picture over Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) murder as Cain Dingle () and Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) find themselves in the frame for the killing on the soap. The farmhand's body has finally been found at the bottom of a lake months after he disappeared from screens, with friends and family believing he had takena job in Shetland.
Although viewers are aware John is his killer the soap police don't even have him on their radar. Instead Nate's father Cain and ex-wife Tracy have come under suspicion. In Cain's case he beat up Nate on the day he disappeared which puts him firmly in the frame. Meanwhile, Tracy's shady behaviour does her no favours and the fact the former couple were on bad terms when he vanished does not bode well for her. Each believes the other is guilty and they turn on each other in an effort to expose the truth.

Although he did nothing to raise their suspicions and also tried to protect Cain.
In Friday's (June 6) episode Tracy confronted Cain to express her suspicions after the police had informed him of Nate's death. "You didn't tell the police that you beat Nate until he bled, did you? And now, I can't stop wondering how far you would've gone if I hadn't have been there," she raged.
In scenes that will air next week it appears the finger of suspicion will fall on her rather than her father-in-law though. With tensions still running high an angry Sam Dingle (James Hooten) berates her for accusing Cain of the murder.
Still shaken by the accusations, Cain proposes that it might actually have been Tracy who was responsible.

The mum of one is aghast at this suggestion, knowing she is innocent. Despite this, the real killer John seems to be siding with Cain, reassuring him that the police will clear his name soon.
This doesn't bode well for Tracy and when the police arrive at Tug Ghyll with a search warrant they find Nate's phone in her daughter Frankie's playhouse where it has been planted.
She is hauled to the station for questioning and is shocked when told there is no record of the removal man who supposedly took Nate's belongings to Shetland.
With the evidence stacking up against her it looks like Tracy could carry the can for Nate's murder.
