
The Delhi government has launched a recruitment drive for the appointment of teachers in 75 'CM Shri' schools. CM Shri schools are set to start within a year.
The Delhi government has officially launched a recruitment drive for the appointment of teachers in 75 CM Shri schools. According to an official circular, these schools (CM Shri schools) are expected to be operational within a year. The Directorate of Education (DOE) has invited applications from existing government school teachers for transfer to these schools through a special 'interface' process. According to the circular, the posts are available for postgraduate teachers (PGT), trained graduate teachers (TGT), primary teachers (PRT) and various teaching roles.
The circular states, "Interested teachers must submit their applications through e-mail by 11.59 pm on June 9. Applicants must have at least 5 years left till retirement." It said interface sessions will be held on June 11 for PRTs and TGTs and on June 12 for PGTs and miscellaneous teachers, starting at 10 am on each day.
12 schools to be completely rebuilt
An official said that 12 of these schools will be completely rebuilt, while the remaining 63 schools will be set up in existing government buildings, which will be renovated to the advanced standards of CM Shri institutions.
Announcement was made during Delhi Budget 2025-26
The CM Shri School initiative was announced during the Delhi Budget 2025-26, with Rs 100 crore allocated for setting up these schools. Modelled on the lines of the central government's PM Shri Schools, CM Shri Schools aim to align with the National Education Policy 2020 and implement the National Curriculum Framework 2023. The initiative focuses on providing modern infrastructure, including smart classes, AI-based teaching tools, and courses in data science and robotics. (Input PTI)
