Dhruv Jurel has quietly but confidently built a strong case for inclusion in India’s Test team. Dubbed the “Mr. Consistent” of India A, Jurel has consistently delivered under pressure, especially in challenging overseas conditions. His recent form has been outstanding—he scored three consecutive fifties against England Lions (94, 53, and 52), displaying patience, composure, and shot selection befitting a top-level red-ball player.

Jurel’s adaptability has also been on show in South Africa and Australia, where he registered scores of 69 against SA-A and 80 and 68 against Aus-A—runs that came in tough conditions and against quality bowling attacks. These performances speak volumes about his temperament and readiness for the highest level.

In his short Test career so far, Jurel has already made an impact. In 4 matches, he has scored 202 runs at an average of 40.4. His standout performance came in Ranchi against England, where his gritty 90 in the first innings and a crucial 39 in the second earned him the Man of the Match award.

With a solid technique, sharp keeping skills, and the ability to perform in pressure situations, Dhruv Jurel is not just a promising youngster—he’s ready. A permanent spot in the Indian Test XI seems well within reach.
