might come across as a cheeky chappy constantly cracking jokes, but away from the cameras the funnyman has experienced plenty of tough times. The comedian has a supportive family but at one point his marriage was reportedly on the brink following a heartbreaking affair that left their relationship hanging by a thread.
The 41-year-old star married accountant Lynsey in 2014 and the couple two adorable daughters, Daphne and their younger child, who has never had her name revealed. The family call Yorkshire their home and Alex's career has gone from strength to strength, appearing regularly on Channel 4's and ITV's .
He and Lynsey have always kept their relationship under wraps, but she did appear with him on a documentary about body image in 2013 and they also starred on an episode of All Star Mr & Mrs together. Alex has also previously opened up about how he didn't tell Lynsey about his disability at first.

Despite their now solid foundation, in 2019 things turned rocky when it was alleged Alex had a fling with a beautician while filming for his talk show in London.
"It was a really tough year for Alex and Lynsey," a source revealed at the time. "He was filming in London and she was at home up north. It was a real strain on the marriage." Alex allegedly struck up a friendship with the woman on the Last Leg set, which grew more than just professional, though the liaison only lasted about a month before ending abruptly in August."
Sources say Alex was mortified and immediately told Lynsey about the relationship. "He's absolutely mortified this happened because he's a dad and he does love Lynsey deeply. He regrets it and wants to move forward," the insider added.

Since the scandal, Alex and Lynsey have reportedly been working tirelessly to mend fences. The couple have been spotted enjoying family outings and sharing light and loving moments on social media.
The star has always been candid that his children and family are the centre of his world. One close friend told Yorkshire Live: "Alex and Lynsey are more in love than ever. They've been through the worst, and come out fighting stronger."
