Celebrating Artistic Collaboration

The Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi has teamed up with Shailja Art Gallery to present an exhibition titled 'Lines Between Us,' featuring the creations of 50 talented artists.

This exhibition serves as a platform for cultural exchange, aiming to unite artistic talents from across India while highlighting Punjab's artistic heritage on a larger stage. Shailja Jain, the founder of Shailja Art Gallery, underscores the significance of artistic liberty.

Each artwork selected for the exhibition carries its own narrative. Patiala's Rajinder Kaur showcases her piece 'Maya,' which intertwines poetic sensitivity with visual tribute. Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, Rajinder's acrylic work resonates emotionally.

Chandigarh's Jaskanwal Kaur presents a conceptual acrylic painting named 'Song Of Nature,' illustrating the parallels between life's journey and a river that, while initially pure, accumulates impurities over time.

Having painted since the 1970s, Jaskanwal has earned numerous accolades, including the esteemed Amrita Sher-Gil award.

Renowned artist Madan Lal, a recipient of the Punjab Kala Sanman, exhibits 'Urban Angela,' which connects the human experience with the artificial world through vibrant hues and layered symbolism. His use of a musk deer as a metaphor reflects the quest for inner essence, while a parrot symbolizes dialogue and thought, alongside other birds representing freedom. The result is a deeply reflective and thought-provoking piece.

Aradhna Tendon, whose work has been showcased both nationally and internationally, has two acrylic paintings displayed in the gallery. With over thirty years of experience, her art combines emotional depth with personal insights. One piece narrates a domestic story, while the other depicts poet-saint Kabir in dialogue with two women, both reflecting inner self and spiritual contemplation. Chandigarh's Reena Bhatnagar explores urbanization through bold abstract forms and vivid colors in her work 'Inner Vista-IX,' offering a precise bird’s eye view of cityscapes.

The exhibition runs until June 14.
