Akshay Kumar’s one of the most anticipated comedy films, ‘Housefull 5,’ finally made it to the big screens on Friday. With double intrigue and ample madness, Akshay has returned to the genre of slapstick comedy. Adding to the chaos are the two endings of the movie, both released simultaneously as Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B. And what’s the box office verdict? According to Sacnilk, ‘Housefull 2’ made a ₹23 crore on its opening day, beating the earlier first-day collection of the previous installment.

‘Housefull 5’ box office update
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the movie boasts an ensemble cast. As it made it to the big screens on June 6, 2025, with mixed reviews, it registered a good opening number at the box office. The early trends show a business of Rs. 23 crore, which means it outperformed the opening haul of the 2019 released ‘Housefull 4,’ which collected ₹19.08 crore on its first day at the box office.

Additionally, these numbers outperformed the opening day collection of Akshay Kumar’s January release of this year, ‘Sky Force,’ which made a business of ₹11.50 crore on day one.

Alongside Akshay Kumar, ‘Housefull 5’ stars Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Johny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, and Soundarya Sharma.

The story follows a murder that takes place on a cruise ship. A rich billionaire named Ranjeet is killed soon after revealing his intention to bequeath his fortune to his successor, Jolly. The intriguing aspect is that there are three individuals named Jolly on board — Akshay, Riteish, and Abhishek. Their girlfriends also emerge as potential suspects in the case.
