Thailand topped the list, followed by Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia, based on accommodation searches conducted on Agoda in April 2025 for check-in dates between July and August.
France, the U.K., Germany, Russia, and Norway recorded the highest number of searches for travel to Vietnam.
Vietnam has also gained attention from emerging markets, including Hungary, where searches increased by 320% compared to last year, Turkey with a 288% rise, and Poland, which saw a 153% increase.
This reflects Vietnam’s growing prominence on the European tourism map.
Starting March 1 Vietnam waived visas for tourists from Poland, Czechia and Switzerland coming on package tours for up to 45 days.
In mid-March the government also decided to extend visa exemptions until 2028 for citizens of 12 countries: Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the U.K.
The waiver had expired on March 15.
European tourists are drawn to Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi for their blend of natural beauty, cultural heritage, and vibrant urban life, according to Agoda.
Vu Ngoc Lam, country director at Agoda, said that Vietnam’s emergence as a top summer destination for European travelers highlights the country’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and improving accessibility.
