Murdered after rape with an 8-year-old girl, court said- no longer mercy, punishment only!

A heartbreaking case came to light in Bihar’s Madhubani district, where the convicts of gang rape and murder of an eight -year -old innocent girl have been sentenced to death by the local court. This incident is not only a warning for the society, but also shows how seriously the judiciary sees such heinous crimes. The court, taking a tough stance in the case, showed no pity on the culprits and sentenced them to death sentence.

On 22 June 2023, this terrible incident took place in Jayanagar police station area of ​​Madhubani. The convicts, Sushil Kumar Rai and Om Prakash Jha, kidnapped an eight -year -old innocent girl. The child was from the Dalit community, and taking advantage of her innocence, the accused seduced her to Jayanagar market. From there, he was gang -raped by taking him to a room in Koshi Colony. When the girl protested and tried to make a noise, these poor people strangled her and murdered her. The cruelty of this crime shocked the entire area.

Historical decision of the court

The case was heard in Madhubani’s special SC/ST court. Special Judge Syed Mohammad Fazlul Bari took the matter seriously and sentenced the two convicts to death under Section 302/34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Along with this, life imprisonment and fine of Rs 1.2 lakh were also imposed under various sections of POCSO Act and SC/ST Act. The judge clearly said in his judgment, “This crime is so heinous that the guilty is not eligible for any mercy.” This decision gives a strong message in the society that crimes against children will not be tolerated.

Legal process and role of witnesses

In this case, Special Public Prosecutor Sapan Kumar Singh (Sapan Kumar Singh) strongly advocated on behalf of the victim side. He said that this was a rare case, in which the verdict was pronounced after a trial that lasted for 20 months. On September 23, 2023, the case came to SC/ST Special Court, and during this time statements of 20 witnesses were recorded. Along with the family of the victim, independent witnesses also spoke in the court. The statements of both the convicts were recorded on November 18, 2024, after which the court gave its final verdict.

There was a conspiracy to sell in Delhi

Sapan Kumar Singh revealed that the culprits were planned to sell the girl in Delhi. When the girl’s family was not at home, the accused seduced her and took her to Jayanagar market. But when the girl protested, she murdered her. The police took quick action and arrested both the accused the next day and recovered the body of the girl. This quick action also showed the activism of the police.
