New Delhi, June 1 — In a move that brings slight relief to businesses across the country, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has revised the prices of commercial LPG cylinders as part of its routine monthly review. Effective June 1, 2025the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has become cheaper by ₹24 to ₹25 in major cities including Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai. However, there has been no change in domestic LPG priceswhich remain steady since April 8, 2025.

New Commercial LPG Prices Across Key Cities

According to the latest rate notification by IOC, here’s what businesses will now pay for a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder:

  • Delhi: ₹1,723.50 (↓ ₹24 from ₹1,747.50)

  • Kolkata: ₹1,826.00 (↓ ₹25.50 from ₹1,851.50)

  • Mumbai: ₹1,674.50 (↓ ₹24.50 from ₹1,699.00)

  • Chennai: ₹1,881.00 (↓ ₹25 from ₹1,906.00)

This price adjustment follows a similar trend from April and May when marginal reductions were implemented in response to global crude price fluctuations and changes in demand-supply dynamics.

Domestic LPG Rates Remain Unchanged

While commercial cylinders saw a reduction, 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders have not been revised this month. The last price hike occurred on April 8, when domestic prices were increased by ₹50. Here are the current domestic LPG rates in major cities:

  • Delhi: ₹853.00

  • Kolkata: ₹879.00

  • Mumbai: ₹852.50

  • Chennai: ₹868.50

And in other cities:

  • Patna: ₹942.50

  • Lucknow: ₹890.50

  • Hyderabad: ₹905.00

  • Bengaluru: ₹855.50

  • Ahmedabad: ₹860.00

  • Indore: ₹881.00

  • Varanasi: ₹916.50

What Determines LPG Prices?

The price of commercial LPG cylinders is revised monthly based on international benchmark rates for propane and butane, along with freight, exchange rates, and local taxes. On the other hand, domestic LPG prices are regulated by the Indian governmentwhich absorbs part of the cost to reduce the burden on households. This often leads to a longer period of price stability for domestic users.

For example, the domestic LPG price in Delhi was unchanged at ₹803 for over a year until April 2025, when it was increased to ₹853 due to rising input costs.

Final Takeaway

While the price cut may be modest, it offers relief to eateries, hotels, and small businesses heavily reliant on LPG for cooking and heating. For household users, prices remain stable, ensuring predictability in monthly budgeting.

Consumers are advised to check the official IOC website or consult their local gas agency for city-specific updates and booking details.
