If you also pay from UPI, that is, you transact money online, then there is big news for you. Some of its rules are going to change from 1 August 2025. The effect of which will be directly on the users. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has released a circulation for this. The effect of this change will be seen on some services like balance check, autope and transaction status check.
Now the balance will be done again and again
These changed rules will be banned from repeated checks of users. From August 1, a users will be able to check the balance only 50 times in one UPI app one day. For example, if you run the phone, then you will be able to check the balance 50 times and only 50 times with some other app.
The status of the transaction will not be seen immediately
Till now, his status was seen soon after payment, whether the payment was successful or not. But according to the new rule, it will have to wait a little. This will protect the system from excessive load.
Limit on link account also
Till now, many accounts could be linked to a mobile number in UPI and could check them. But now there is a preparation to ban this too. How many UPI account links are in the number, but it can be checked only 25 times a day when the user will choose the bank with its consent.
Autope payments also banned
These new rules will not see much impact on autope payments. But now under this, the payment will not be between 10 am to 1 pm and 5 to 9:30 pm. That is, money will be deducted from your account besides these times.
Why are these changes being made?
According to NPCI, some users often increase the load of the system unnecessarily by checking the balance or in some other way. This causes problems to the user. With the introduction of these rules, the performance of the system will be better and users will also get better security.
